Dorchester County Treasurer, Cindy Chitty, reminds property owners of the Friday, January 15 deadline to apply for the Advanced Installment Plan (AIP) for property taxes.
The AIP was created to assist property owners with paying their annual property taxes in six
installments throughout the year, in lieu of a lump sum payment. The AIP is not available to property owners who pay taxes via an escrowed account through a mortgage company or tax service.
Property owners who would like to take part in the AIP for tax year 2021 are asked to complete and submit the AIP application online at DorchesterCountyTaxesOnline.com or pick up a printed application at one of the Treasurer’s Offices conveniently located in Summerville and St. George.
Treasurer Chitty said “This program benefits taxpayers at all levels whether you own one piece of property or multiple properties. The AIP is an easy process without any additional fees.”
The online application, powered by Simpligov, is part of a County initiative to put County news and services at residents' fingertips and reduce wait times.
