The Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to quality education. Three public school districts and two private schools provide educational opportunities for young people living in upper Dorchester , western Berkeley and eastern Orangeburg counties. Home schooling is also an option for parents in South Carolina .

In the Tri-County Region, 56 percent of students pursue post-secondary education after graduation from high school. A number of local colleges and universities, state-supported and private, are available to assist them with their educational needs.
